The pricing model in one paragraph

Enterprise B2B2C model: government agencies, healthcare, and commercial brands pay per successful verification plus subscription fees. Pricing scoped to NIST 800-63-3 IAL2/AAL2 compliance and reuse volume.

Direct answer
Why does this site not show a per-check number?
ID.me does not publish per-check pricing on its public site. We do not republish inferred rates from third-party listings because those numbers cannot be cited to the vendor itself. Use the sales contact above for an authoritative quote.

Notes from the pricing page

The B2B2C model

ID.me sells to organisations (government agencies, healthcare systems, commercial brands), not consumers. The consumer-facing identity wallet is reused across all of them: once a consumer has verified through ID.me for the IRS, the same credential can be used for VA benefits, state DMV, healthcare provider portals, and commercial brands that have integrated ID.me single sign-on.

NIST 800-63-3 compliance

ID.me pricing is structured around NIST identity assurance levels. IAL1 (self-asserted) is the cheapest verification tier. IAL2 (remote with biometric binding) is the most common, required for IRS and VA access. IAL3 (in-person or supervised remote) is the highest cost, used for restricted-access services. Vendors pay per successful verification, with credentials reusable across the ID.me network.

Reusable credential economics

The pricing model favours buyers whose users frequently re-authenticate. Each fresh verification has the highest per-event cost; each reuse of an already-verified credential is materially cheaper. For services with sticky users (annual tax filing, ongoing VA benefits, recurring healthcare access), the blended cost per authenticated session falls quickly.

Why we do not show inferred rates

ID.me's public business pricing page returns HTTP 403 Forbidden to automated verification. Third-party listings reference per-verification fees in various ranges but the numbers vary by NIST level, contract minimum, and reuse pattern. We do not republish them because they cannot be cited to ID.me.

For regulated-finance KYC
